PREVENTIVE CARE, PERSONALIZED TO YOU
Prevention is not one-size-fits-all. Your oral health needs are influenced by your age, health history, medications, nutrition, daily habits, and personal goals.
DEN Smiles offers comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care supported by modern technology, personalized education, and minimally invasive services. We begin with the care that fits your current oral health and recommend additional services only when they provide meaningful clinical benefit.
We will explain what we recommend, why we recommend it, and how it supports your health—so you can make informed decisions about your care.

A BIOLOGICALLY INFORMED APPROACH TO DENTAL HYGIENE
At DEN Smiles, we view the mouth as an important part of the whole body. Our approach considers not only what we see today, but also the health, environmental, and lifestyle factors that contribute to changes in your teeth, gums, saliva, and oral microbiome.
Rather than using the same preventive routine for every patient, we evaluate your individual risk factors and develop a personalized dental hygiene care plan based on your needs

YOUR ASSESSMENT MAY CONSIDER
Our recommendations may incorporate enhanced risk assessment, salivary diagnostics, minimally invasive periodontal care, targeted preventive therapies, biocompatible product options, and personalized education.
The goal is not simply to respond to what is visible. It is to better understand the factors influencing your oral health, reduce preventable risks, and create a practical plan that supports long-term health.
When your findings would benefit from dental diagnosis, medical evaluation, or care outside our services, we collaborate with your dentist and other healthcare professionals

STAYING HEALTHY AND PROACTIVE
If your teeth and gums are currently healthy, our goal is to help you keep them that way. Regular preventive care, personalized education, and early identification of changes help protect your health and preserve your smile for the future

When collaboration would benefit your care, we work alongside your dentist, physician, and other members of your healthcare team. When a referral is needed, we help connect you with a professional whose expertise aligns with your needs.
OUR SERVICES
ORAL CANCER SCREENING
Every preventive visit includes a visual and tactile oral cancer screening. DEN Smiles recommends enhanced VELscope® screening once each year as an additional layer of assessment.
AIRWAY AND SLEEP HEALTH SCREENING
Every patient completes a brief airway and sleep questionnaire supported by clinical observations during their visit. This screening helps identify signs of possible breathing or sleep concerns that would benefit from further evaluation.
SALIVARY DIAGNOSTICS AND ORAL MICROBIOME ASSESSMENT
Saliva and oral microbiome assessments provide insight into factors influencing cavity risk, gum inflammation, and the balance of your oral environment. These findings help guide personalized recommendations for home care, nutrition patterns, products, and preventive therapies
REMINERALIZATION AND NON-INVASIVE THERAPIES
Targeted therapies allow us to intervene early and help preserve natural tooth structure. Curodont® is a brush-on, biomimetic treatment that supports guided enamel remineralization within eligible early-stage, non-cavitated lesions—without drilling. Silver diamine fluoride is used to reduce root sensitivity and arrest the progression of certain carious lesions. When dental diagnosis or ongoing monitoring is required, care is coordinated with your dentist.
LASER THERAPY
Laser therapy uses focused light energy to target bacteria and inflamed tissue while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue. It provides a precise, minimally invasive way to support periodontal health without incisions or stitches. Used alongside mechanical instruments that remove plaque and calculus from the teeth and below the gumline, the laser provides an additional level of bacterial reduction within the periodontal pocket. This technology can be incorporated into care for gingival inflammation, periodontal therapy, and periodontal maintenance. For patients struggling with root sensitivity, laser therapy provides targeted support to help reduce discomfort. It is also used to treat painful canker sores and cold sores, helping relieve discomfort and support the body’s healing response. This technology supports our biologically informed approach by allowing us to target areas of concern while preserving healthy oral tissue.
PERIODONTAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Healthy gums provide the foundation for maintaining your oral health. For patients with gingivitis, active periodontal disease, or a history of gum disease, care is personalized according to current findings and individual risk factors. Non-surgical periodontal therapy removes plaque, biofilm, and calculus from below the gumline to reduce inflammation and create an environment that supports healthier tissue. Salivary diagnostics, oral microbiome assessment, and laser therapy provide additional insight and targeted support as part of comprehensive periodontal care. Because periodontal disease requires ongoing management, maintenance visits include monitoring pocket depths, bleeding, inflammation, recession, and other changes over time. The frequency of care is individualized, and we collaborate with your dentist or periodontist when additional evaluation or treatment is needed.
PROFESSIONAL WHITENING
Professional in-office whitening options include Philips Zoom and laser whitening. Your whitening approach is selected according to your goals, tooth sensitivity, and desired timeline, with comfort considered throughout the process.
